DENTAL IMPLANTS?

Dental implants involve three major processes depending on the condition of the patient. These include the following:

1. Single tooth replacement – This process involves the replacement of a single tooth. To do this, the dentist inserts an implant into the one as a substitute for the root of the tooth. Then, an implant crown is placed on the top to simulate an actual tooth. Below are some of the advantages of this method:

2. Fixed-bridge on implant – This process involves the replacement of a section of missing teeth. Multiple implants are inserted and then attached to a fixed bridge spanning the whole section of missing teeth. On average a complete replacement of the entire jaw needs between 4 to 8 implants. The following are the advantages of this procedure:
   • The implanted teeth function normally
   • They are long lasting
   • The adjacent teeth stay intact
3. Support for dentures – There are some situations the patients may have lost virtually all their teeth. For this reason, dental implants become necessary to support the removable dentures to revamp their smile once again and have their self-confidence restored. The benefits of this process include:

   • Highly esthetic
   • Long lasting and require minimal maintenance
   • Restores teeth hygiene
